Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Required
· Performs service/installation of access control, closed circuit television systems, and other various related systems.
· Evaluates, diagnoses, troubleshoots systems and perform repairs as necessary.
· Performs installs, upgrades, and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability.
· Performs computer program entry as required to add closed circuit television cameras, access control device, and other low voltage systems as needed.
· Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions.
· Prepares documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats. (e.g. daily paperwork/log, time and materials, etc.)
· Transports a variety of items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
· Write clearly and informatively, able to read and interpret written information.
· Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and get clarification.
· Professionalism approach others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure, treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position, accept responsibility for own actions, follow through on commitments.
· Must be able to train customers on the usage of all applicable products used in installation and/or system upgrades.
· Must be available to travel as necessary.
Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Required
· Intermediate knowledge of computer, networks, and information technology related systems.
· Intermediate knowledge of structured cabling.
· Should have EIA/TIA wiring knowledge.
Skilled and Trained Workforce Requirement:
This position requires compliance with California's Skilled and Trained Workforce requirements. Applicants must hold or obtain Skilled and Trained status as a journeyperson, which includes securing a certified journeyman card from the state. If not already certified, this can be achieved by enrolling in and graduating from an accelerated apprenticeship program offered by the Western Electrical Contractors Association (WECA), of which World Telecom & Surveillance, Inc. is a member.
Required
· Maintaining confidentiality of work related information and materials.
· Maintain an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
· Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely.
· Ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
· Ability to work independently.
· Ability to use test equipment.
· Safely drive a company vehicle.
Physical Requirements
Required
· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· The employee is frequently required to walk.
· The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
· The employee must be able to safely move and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. on a routine basis, and on limited occasions up to 50 pounds without assistance.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision, distant vision, and peripheral vision.
· The employee must be capable of frequently bending, kneeling, crawling and stooping while working.
· The employee will consistently be required to work from high places such as roofs, ceilings, ladders, as well as from crawl spaces and other limited spaces within and outside of residences and commercial businesses.
· Work is performed within extreme temperature ranges.
· Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Work Experience
Required
Two (2) years installing, servicing, and maintaining access control and closed circuit television systems.
Education
Required
High School diploma or educational equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications
Required
·Valid California Driver's license – Clean Driving Record
Other
Preferred
· Experience with AMAG, DSX, S2, RS2, Axis, Bosch, Hanwha, Pelco, Salient, Qognify, Milestone, etc.
