Full Job Description

Bookkeeper

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid bookkeeping background, strong accounting knowledge, intermediate-level Excel skills, and hands-on experience using QuickBooks. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's accounting operations. The Bookkeeper will report directly to a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

This position is best suited for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Because our company operates with a lean accounting structure, the successful candidate must be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Enter daily receipts and financial transactions into the accounting system.
Perform accurate data entry into bookkeeping and accounting software.
Utilize QuickBooks to maintain financial records and generate reports.
Prepare and maintain financial reports, ledgers, and supporting schedules.
Process accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments.
Reconcile multiple bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial records across multiple companies.
Record journal entries and make necessary account corrections.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting documentation.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Demonstrate knowledge of applicable accounting principles, tax regulations, and bookkeeping practices.
Assist the CPA with accounting projects and financial reporting as needed.
Communicate with vendors and internal personnel regarding accounting-related matters.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience required.
Previous hands-on experience with QuickBooks is required.
Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple entities/companies simultaneously is required.
Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations involving multiple accounts and multiple companies is required.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Additional accounting coursework is required.
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a high-volume environment.

In Person Only

This is not a remote or hybrid position. Employees are required to work on-site at our office in Redlands, CA 92373.

Commute/Relocation Requirement

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Redlands, CA 92373 or plan to relocate before starting work.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Employment Status

Employment with the Company is at-will. This means that either the employee or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice, and with or without cause, subject to applicable law.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
