Full Job Description

Bob's Heating & Air Conditioning is hiring for the position of Staff Accountant.

The Staff Accountant daily activities include supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and monthly close process. This position will be responsible for a broad range of accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable support, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, fixed asset and lease accounting, cash receipt reconciliation, and monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.

You are: a self-starter, motivated individual who has strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This is a hands-on opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of their work, solving problems, and contributing as a collaborative member of the accounting team.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive base wage of $30.00 - $39.00/hr, DOE
Medical/Dental/Vision/Life benefit package for team members and family
Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability optional benefit
401K plan with a match of 50% of the first 4%
Paid Time Off (PTO) Team members will accrue 80 hours of PTO in their first year
Six (6) paid holidays

Responsibilities include:

Assist with Accounts Receivable Invoicing & Cash Receipt Posting
Submit Utility rebates and reconcile to the GL Monthly
Reconcile monthly credit card cash receipts to merchant & bank statements
Prepare various monthly General Ledger journal entries
Prepare various Balance Sheet and bank reconciliations and other month end close duties.
Manage fixed asset and capital lease accounting for the company
Support Accounts Payable function by providing back up entry support during peak volume times and performing vendor statement review.
Obtain approvals and enter AP bills into accounting system
Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Annual State and local tax filings (Excise tax, City B&O, Personal Property, Unclaimed Property)
Other accounting related tasks as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Skills and Qualifications Requirements include:

3-5 years general ledger accounting experience required (or equivalent)

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of GAAP
Strong organizational skills
Ability to be both fast and accurate in a high-volume setting
Team player with the ability to also work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
