Division: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC) & Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House (LARMH)
Reports To: Development Manager, Communications (RMHCSC) & Director of Development (LARMH)
FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 30 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $24-27/ hourly

Position Summary
The Content & Social Media Coordinator supports communications, storytelling, and digital engagement across Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC) and Ronald McDonald House Los Angeles (LARMH). Splitting time between both teams, this role creates compelling content that advances fundraising, strengthens community engagement, and ensures consistent, mission-driven storytelling across digital platforms.

This position is jointly shared between RMHCSC and the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House, with work priorities and scheduling coordinated between both supervisors based on organizational needs, events, and campaign timelines.

Working closely with the Communications Manager (RMHCSC) and the Director of Development (LARMH), this position captures the stories that bring our mission to life while supporting social media, email communications, fundraising campaigns, and community partnerships.

This is primarily a remote position with regular travel throughout Southern California to Ronald McDonald programs community events, corporate partner activations, and the Los Angeles House as needed to capture content, support communications initiatives, and attend meetings.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Content Creation & Management

RMHCSC: Capture and create engaging content across Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, Camp, corporate partnerships, events, and awareness campaigns. Develop social media posts, short-form videos, and written stories that strengthen chapter-wide visibility and reflect RMHCSC's mission and brand standards.
LARMH: Capture authentic House experiences featuring families, volunteers, staff, and donors. Develop engaging content that highlights the House's impact while supporting local fundraising, volunteer engagement, and community awareness initiatives.

Social Media Management

RMHCSC: Assist in maintaining the organization's social media presence through content scheduling, publishing, and monitoring engagement while ensuring consistent branding and messaging across platforms. Support storytelling efforts that highlight families, corporate partners, volunteers, and chapter-wide initiatives through photography, videography, interviews, and written content.
LARMH: Support the House's social media presence by creating and publishing content that promotes House activities, fundraising initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and community partnerships. Share stories that celebrate the impact of the House while strengthening relationships with local donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Email Communications

RMHCSC: Assist with chapter-wide email communications, including newsletters, fundraising campaigns, and stewardship communications using established templates and brand standards.
LARMH: Coordinate the monthly House Happenings newsletter and assist with additional email communications supporting donor stewardship, volunteer engagement, and fundraising initiatives.

Events & Development Support

RMHCSC: Capture content and provide communications to support fundraising events, corporate activations, awareness campaigns, and community outreach opportunities.
LARMH: Assist in developing communications materials and digital content for fundraising initiatives, including the annual No Place Like Home Gala, volunteer events, and donor engagement activities.

Team Support

RMHCSC: Support the Communications Manager with marketing projects, website updates, digital asset organization, and other communications initiatives assigned.
LARMH: Support the Director of Development with communications projects, collateral, and digital marketing efforts that advance the House's fundraising and community engagement goals.

Beyond the outlined tasks, adaptability is crucial in our dynamic environment. RMHCSC needs a proactive team member ready to contribute and who will be adaptable to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team initiatives and seamlessly collaborate across functions for overall marketing success.

Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years related work experience in a non-profit marketing and communications and/or development department.

Knowledge and Skills:

Requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, volunteers, donors, and the public.
Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Language Skills:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, and the general public.
Spanish speaking abilities is a plus.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Constant Contact

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly throughout Southern California
