Fire Protection Field Consultant - West or Midwest

NRG Fire Consulting is a fast growing fire and life safety consulting and design company with locations throughout the US and work throughout North America. We’re looking for a Fire Protection Field Consultant to join our team and contribute to our mutual success. This role is work from home, requires 2-3 nights of travel per week, and is open to anyone located in the following US states within 1 hour of a major airport

Note: Individuals whose backgrounds are primarily fire fighting, EMT/EMS, health workers, safety workers, are not typically who we are looking for in this role.

Fire Protection Field Consultant

A Fire Protection Field Consultant with NRG is knowledgeable in NFPA standards, and will travel to survey or review fire sprinkler, fire alarm, or fire pump systems, or other building criteria, for a wide array of projects. We work on commercial, retail, industrial sites. This role is responsible to review site or project conditions, and communicate effectively with all on findings/ results. Travel will be required for the role as our work takes place throughout North America, although most travel for each NRG team member is within a specific region. Travel averages approximately two to three nights per week, depending on the individual. Reports based on work conducted in the field are completed from a home office.

Best suited for this role are individuals very familiar with fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire pumps, building structure, and other types of building components typically found in warehousing or manufacturing settings. This role does not include the operation or testing of systems, and does include survey and review/ checks against approved plans for correct installation.

Note: Individuals whose backgrounds are primarily fire fighting, EMT/EMS, health workers, safety workers, are not typically who we are looking for in this role.

Job Qualifications:

· Must be willing to regularly travel throughout western North America 2-3 nights a week. Most travel work will be performed in the western US, the rest from remote home office. CFPS and other certifications preferred or as deemed necessary.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of work directly related to fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire pumps. This individual must be able to walk into a building and clearly understand and be able to convey the existing systems in place, and check installation against approved plans.

· Competencies: Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards. Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire pump systems.

· Required: Microsoft Office Suite, engineering/ design tools.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work within tight project timeframes and communicate effectively with customers. Ability to write clear and concise reports detailing/ outlining findings from site visits.
