Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Community Recruiter plays a critical role in building and sustaining grassroots talent pipelines through strategic community engagement. This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with local organizations, community groups, workforce development programs, and educational institutions to support recruiting efforts for nationwide locations. This role is specifically focused on sourcing talent for warehousing and distribution environments, supporting a largely hourly-paid, frontline workforce. Given the high volume and often hard to reach nature of this candidate population, the Community Recruiter must be skilled at engaging in communities that are not always reached through traditional or digital-first recruiting methods.

This role emphasizes relationship-building and brand presence within targeted communities while also supporting candidate sourcing, engagement, and conversion activities. The Community Recruiter serves as a trusted ambassador, connecting talent to opportunities and helping organizations strengthen their local hiring strategies.

This position reports to the Director of Recruiting and requires approximately 50% travel within assigned regions to cultivate partnerships and support in-person recruiting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Community & Partnership Development

Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, workforce development agencies, military transition programs, and local leaders.
Develop strategic partnerships to build sustainable candidate pipelines aligned to client hiring needs, with particular focus on populations that are hard to reach through conventional recruiting channels including underserved neighborhoods, non-traditional labor markets, and communities with limited access to online job platforms.
Represent the organization at community events, job fairs, networking events, and local meetings.
Collaborate with clients to identify new community partnership opportunities in target markets.

Grassroots Recruiting & Talent Engagement

Design and execute grassroots recruiting strategies to attract diverse, local talent pools for hourly warehousing and distribution roles.
Serve as a primary point of contact for community-based candidate engagement, building trust with hard-to-reach populations who may face barriers to traditional employment (e.g., transportation, language, access to technology, or unfamiliarity with the warehousing industry).
Source, screen, and engage candidates through community channels and referrals.
Support candidate experience from initial outreach, interview coordination through hiring, ensuring a positive and inclusive process tailored to a largely frontline, industrial, and hourly workforce.

Candidate Sourcing & Digital Channel Management

Source and screen applicants across all digital recruiting channels. The role requires timely review and disposition of all inbound digital applications, ensuring a consistent and high-quality candidate experience throughout the screening process. Because a significant portion of this candidate population may not be actively engaged through digital platforms alone, this role also requires proactive, in-person and grassroots outreach to supplement digital pipelines.

Relationship Management

Build and manage relationships including workforce training programs, trade schools, and community colleges.
Develop programming such as workshops, information sessions, and employer awareness events to strengthen talent pipelines for warehousing and distribution career opportunities.
Maintain ongoing communication with partners to ensure alignment with hiring needs and opportunities.

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner closely with internal recruiting teams and stakeholders to understand hiring goals and workforce needs.
Provide insights on local labor markets, community trends, and partnership effectiveness specific to hourly and blue-collar labor pools.
Support new client onboarding by identifying and activating local community recruiting channels.

Program & Event Coordination

Plan, coordinate, and execute recruiting events, hiring events, and community outreach initiatives.
Track and measure effectiveness of outreach strategies and partnerships.
Maintain accurate records of partnerships, events, and candidate pipelines through the ATS.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field.
2+ years of experience in recruiting, community outreach, workforce development, or campus recruiting. Experience recruiting for hourly, frontline, or industrial/warehousing roles strongly preferred.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders, particularly within hard-to-reach or underserved communities.
Bilingual - Spanish. Can read, write, and speak Spanish fluently.
Experience organizing or participating in events, job fairs, or outreach initiatives.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Willingness and ability to travel up at least 50% of the time.
Bilingual in Spanish required

Preferred

Experience in grassroots recruiting, local community recruiting, or nonprofit/community engagement.
Familiarity with local workforce development programs and community organizations.
Experience supporting multi-location or high-volume recruiting environments, especially within warehousing, distribution, logistics, or other hourly-paid industrial settings.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Passion for community impact and connecting individuals to meaningful career opportunities.
