Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Specialist and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this energetic role, you will manage payroll processes with precision, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. You will leverage your expertise in payroll management systems and accounting software to streamline workflows, maintain compliance, and support the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Process payroll for all employees using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate payments
Perform data entry tasks related to payroll, benefits administration, and employee records with high attention to detail
Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting and account reconciliation practices
Maintain and update payroll records, including tax information, deductions, benefits, and hours worked
Collaborate with HRIS systems to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with human resources information systems
Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions, including debits & credits and double entry bookkeeping procedures
Assist with compliance by preparing reports related to tax filings, governmental reporting, and audits

Qualifications

Proven experience with payroll management software such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft
Strong knowledge of accounting principles including general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, debits & credits
Familiarity with benefits administration and non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus
Excellent analysis skills for reviewing payroll data and resolving discrepancies efficiently
Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or other financial software tools
Ability to perform data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills and attention to detail
Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll and employment law is highly desirable
