Job Title: Program Director — Behavioral Health

Pay: $90,000 – $115,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: Remote

A Rare Ground-Floor Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a behavioral health program from the ground up within a growing integrated health system serving Medi-Cal communities across Southern California. If you are a clinician-leader who wants to shape the future of behavioral health access — not just manage an existing program — this role was designed for you.

As Program Director — Behavioral Health, you will report to senior leadership and serve as the clinical and operational architect of our behavioral health expansion. You will work in close collaboration with Nutrition as Therapy, Inc. — our large-scale Medical Nutrition Therapy practice — and Your Voice Therapy, our behavioral health service arm, both operating within Southern California Integrated Health Care, a full integrated health ecosystem serving Los Angeles and Orange County.

What You Will Do

You will own the design, implementation, and performance of our behavioral health program from day one. Specifically, you will:

Design the behavioral health program from the ground up to meet California minimum standards and Medi-Cal compliance requirements
Provide clinical direction to departments supporting behavioral health, including patient engagement, utilization management, compliance, quality assurance, claims, and marketing
Lead cross-departmental initiatives and create awareness among department leaders on how their work intersects with and impacts the behavioral health program
Oversee implementation, operations, and evaluation of behavioral health service expansion efforts aligned with strategic priorities
Manage assigned mental health and eating disorder KPIs and performance pool measures, including leading internal workgroups, producing reports, and presenting progress to senior leadership
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with department leaders, external partners, and community organizations to ensure program effectiveness
Oversee program budgeting and ensure financial sustainability across all behavioral health initiatives
Supervise program activities and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance

What We Are Looking For

Education:

Master's degree in behavioral health, counseling, social work, or a related field required
Bachelor's degree with at least five years of progressive, directly relevant experience will be considered

Experience:

Minimum five years of experience in behavioral health, with at least two years in a supervisory or program leadership role
Demonstrated experience with eating disorders or food-related behavioral health conditions strongly preferred
Working knowledge of Medi-Cal regulations, ICD/CPT/HCPCS coding, and provider contracting preferred

Licensure:

Active California mental health licensure required: LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC
Candidates with active licensure in another state who are eligible to obtain California licensure and are actively pursuing it will be considered

Skills and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data and program outcomes to senior leadership
Excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with competing deadlines
Proven ability to build collaborative teams and lead staff in a way that promotes communication and accountability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access)
Spanish fluency strongly preferred given our predominantly Spanish-speaking Medi-Cal patient population in Los Angeles and Orange County

Schedule and Availability

This is a fully remote position. Our office hours are 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM PT, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT, Friday and Saturday. Candidates must be able to commit to availability within these Pacific Time Zone hours. Occasional Saturday availability is required as part of this role.
