Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Writer serves as a lead writer and is responsible for delivering high quality clinical research documents to sponsors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assumes primary responsibility for writing assigned medical writing documents;
Ensures all assigned medical writing documents are prepared according to regulatory guidelines and company standard operating procedure(s);
Independently develops components of all assigned medical writing documents but may collaborate with Associate Director, Medical Writing and other medical writing personnel as needed;
Works closely with Associate Director, Medical Writing to communicate status of projects, mitigate risk to project goals and timelines, and ensure timely completion of milestones;
Shows proficiency with time and task organization, communicates effectively, exhibits strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities, and consistently strives to produce high‑quality deliverables;
Collaborates with sponsors, vendors, and DVCR functional team leads to ensure accuracy in data interpretation and presentation;
Performs quality control (QC) review of documents as needed;
Supports DVCR personnel, including assisting with SOPs and processes;
Contributes to and participates in project proposals and bid defense meetings when requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a science field;
At least 2 years medical writing experience, preferably in Phase 1; and
Sound writing skills with strong command of English language and grammar.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree in life sciences;
Experience writing protocols, clinical study reports, and other regulatory documents for pharmaceutical companies;
Possess exceptional ability to work both independently and collaboratively; and
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
