The Role

The Registered Dietitian (RD) is a key member of the Nudj Lifestyle Management team. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Nutrition Services, the RD provides nutrition counseling and health education in 1:1 and group settings to promote behavioral change and improve the mental and physical health care of patients.

Duties & Responsibilities

Evaluate the health of a patient through comprehensive assessments and follow-ups in accordance with current standards of practice
Prescribe behavior modifications and create intervention plans that are patient-centered on outcome-oriented to promote overall health and disease control, prevention and reversal. Patients will be followed virtually.
Analyze laboratory results and effectively discuss results with patients, using advanced clinical knowledge and expertise.
Facilitate and lead group educational classes.
Document and track patient progress, treatment recommendations, and clinical outcomes in EHR and other required systems. Communicate resulting treatment recommendations to the clinical care team.
Provide brief behavioral interventions using evidence-based techniques such as behavioral activation, motivational interviewing, or other treatments as appropriate.
Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and caseload reviews with psychiatric consultant and clinical care team
Responsible for maintaining all aspects of case management, ensuring compliance and program prescription.

Qualifications:

Registered Dietician Nutritionist with a master's degree, with at least 3 years of clinical experience
Registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Excellent clinical communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and sensitive to patients' needs.
Ability to thrive in a high-tempo and collaborative environment with patient first care focus.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team setting, yet also able to work independently.
Innate ability to provide compassionate support and empathy to each patient and bring forth concerns without judgement or gossip
Excellent computer skills, including the use of electronic medical records, and secure telehealth platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Experience with older and/or culturally diverse populations is a plus
