Interfaith Dental is a volunteer-driven nonprofit agency that helps vulnerable populations achieve and sustain and healthy smile. Interfaith Dental’s mission is to create a healthier community by providing transformational oral health care for those experiencing poverty. We focus on life transformation through dentistry offering both access to oral health services as well as education, motivation, and inspiration.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with health regulation policies and clinical confidentiality standards. Your expertise will ensure seamless access to patient information, support the revenue cycle management process, and uphold the integrity of electronic health records (EHR) systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through meticulous records management and efficient data handling.

Responsibilities

Organize and maintain comprehensive medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with healthcare regulations and policies
Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to input, retrieve, and update patient information efficiently
Ensure strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient privacy at all times
Verify medical documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with medical terminology standards
Support revenue cycle management by processing billing information and coordinating with billing departments for claims submission
Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify discrepancies or missing data and implement corrective actions
Assist healthcare providers by retrieving patient records promptly during clinical visits or audits

Requirements

Proven experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting with familiarity in medical records management
Strong knowledge of health regulation policies, clinical confidentiality standards, and medical terminology
Proficiency in using EHR systems and EMR/EHR management software for accurate data entry and retrieval
Understanding of records management principles, including document organization, retention policies, and secure storage practices
Knowledge of revenue cycle management processes related to billing, coding, and claims processing
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to handle large volumes of sensitive information effectively
Ability to follow established procedures while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Pay: $23.67 - $28.50 per hour
