Head of Digital Distribution & Social Media

Being Jewish with Jonah Platt | Jonah Platt personal brand | Contract / Freelance

About the role

We're looking for a self-directed digital operator to serve as Head of Digital Distribution & Social Media across two brands: Being Jewish with Jonah Platt — a fast-growing podcast at the intersection of Jewish identity, culture, and conversation — and the Jonah Platt personal brand.

You'll set the strategy, run the platforms, and build the audience. You'll work hand in hand with our Supervising Producer and directly with Jonah — one voice going in, one voice coming out.

End-to-end responsibility across a wide range of platforms and content types:

Social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, X, LinkedIn)

Platform-native content creation, caption writing, and scheduling across every channel. Stories, carousels, community posts, and reactive content. Comment and DM management across platforms. TikTok is a primary growth surface — trends, formats, and cadence — and growing it is a core measure of the role.

Short-form video & clipping

Own clipping in-house, end to end, using AI tools to produce at volume. Cut clips from full episodes, build and frame them for Reels and TikTok, and keep the pipeline full. You know what makes a hook land and how to pace a clip.

Newsletter & Substack

Complete ownership of our weekly newsletter, which already reaches a large, engaged audience — copywriting, production, scheduling, and distribution. Full Substack editorial responsibility — writing, publishing cadence, and subscriber engagement, anchored by the transcript of the monologue.

Spotify

Listener comment responses and short video uploads.

Emerging platforms

Launch and manage Reddit, BlueSky, and Pinterest presence.

Original content

Pitch, script, and produce original social content for Jonah — formats built natively for social, not just repurposed episode cuts.

Strategy, calendar & operations

Own the content calendar and publishing coordination across both brands. Build campaigns around themes, holidays, guests, and cultural moments so the whole slate feels intentional. Manage the LA content pipeline — coordinating with the on-the-ground filming team, editing social cuts, and delivering assets on time.

Analytics & reporting

Track performance across every platform and deliver monthly reports with insights and growth recommendations. Let the data steer strategy, spend, and calendar.

Who you are

Hands-on experience managing social media and content distribution for a creator, podcast, media brand, or public figure, with 5+ years in social, growth, or content strategy.
You can edit short-form videos — you know what makes a hook work and how to pace a clip for Reels or TikTok.
A track record of growing channels — come with numbers and examples.
You write well and can shift voice between platforms (a LinkedIn post, a Threads reply, and a newsletter are not the same thing to you).
You're analytical — you look at what's working, draw conclusions, and adjust.
A self-starter who can hold strategy and execution at the same time without dropping either, comfortable in a fast-moving, high-output environment.
Bonus: familiarity with Jewish culture, identity, or media.

Jonah Platt is a Broadway performer, content creator, and public voice across Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, X, Facebook, and beyond.

Details

Contractor / freelance engagement at $5,000/month.
Remote. Los Angeles is a major bonus but not required.
Reports to both the Podcast Producer and Jonah.
