Remote – Travel Required (** Central and Mountain Region**)

Yancey’s Fancy is a nationally distributed, high‑quality cheese brand known for innovative products and strong retail performance. We are seeking a high‑impact, results‑oriented Regional Sales Manager to aggressively grow sales, expand distribution, and drive profitable revenue across multiple channels.

This is a remote position, with preference for candidates located in the Central or Mountain Region. Periodic travel to our home office in Corfu, NY is required.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

Build a territory plan and pipeline that delivers net-new distribution wins across priority banners and distributors
Improve in-market execution—measurable shelf gains, stronger promotional compliance, and better merchandising standards
Implement broker scorecards and cadence to raise performance against KPIs, call coverage, and retail execution
Deliver disciplined forecasts and trade spend management that improves ROI and gross margin
Establish trusted relationships with key customers and internal partners to speed decisions and remove barriers

The Regional Sales Manager is the owner of regional results—responsible for accelerating revenue, expanding distribution, improving shelf presence, and delivering profitable promotions. This is a high-autonomy role for a confident sales leader who thrives on accountability, builds strong retailer and distributor relationships, and knows how to win with brokers through clear expectations, data, and disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver aggressive revenue, distribution, and assortment growth across grocery and other assigned channels
Prospect, pitch, and close new retailers, distributors, and wholesalers; build a qualified pipeline and monthly close plan
Lead broker partners with clear expectations—set targets, run scorecards, and hold teams accountable to KPIs and retail execution
Negotiate pricing, distribution terms, and promotional programs that grow volume while protecting margin
Own regional forecasting, trade spend, and budget management; ensure plans are accurate, proactive, and actionable
Design and execute promotion strategy; evaluate ROI, learn fast, and scale what works with key customers
Conduct frequent in-market store visits to improve shelf position, merchandising, and compliance; resolve obstacles quickly
Use syndicated and customer data to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, and guide fact-based decisions
Partner cross-functionally (marketing, operations, logistics, finance, quality) to ensure flawless execution from plan to shelf
Monitor competitive activity and category trends; provide clear, concise updates and recommendations to leadership

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of food (or CPG) sales experience with a track record of beating targets
Experience leading broker partners and/or regional territories; able to drive performance through cadence, coaching, and accountability
Strong understanding of retail grocery execution (distribution, shelf sets, promotions, pricing, merchandising)
Comfort with data and tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, CRM (or equivalent), and syndicated/customer data to tell a clear story
Proven ability to sell, negotiate, and close—from prospecting through agreement and launch
Strong communication and organizational skills; able to prioritize, follow through, and manage multiple stakeholders
Self-starter who can operate independently across a large geography with high ownership and integrity
Willingness to travel 50–80%
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

Cheese, dairy, or perishable food sales experience
Experience managing high‑volume grocery accounts
Experience with syndicated data platforms (SPINS, Circana, Nielsen, customer systems)
Possess existing industry contacts on the retail side

Base Salary Range $65-85k; OTE $120-160k
