Full Job Description

Overview

Artegis Law Group is a growing patent law specialty firm located in the heart of Silicon Valley with attorneys and staff located across the United States. We are looking for a full-time, senior patent prosecution paralegal to work remotely to handle foreign and US patent prosecution and related administrative work. The position will allow you to work directly with the partners of the firm as well as the attorneys and other timekeepers on our team.

The patent prosecution paralegal will provide support on foreign and US patent application filings and related prosecution matters. At least ten years of foreign filing and prosecution experience is required for this position. The patent prosecution paralegal will operate as part of a team, will be under the supervision of an assigned partner, and will be expected to provide high-quality service to both internal and external clients.

Core Job Functions

Prepare, coordinate review, and file PCT and US patent applications.
Work with clients, partners, and foreign associate law firms to coordinate national-stage and direct foreign filings.
Track and manage foreign prosecution dockets for partners.
Work with clients and docketing service to coordinate annuities and maintenance fees payments.
Upload substantive materials to client-side docketing/prosecution management platforms, such as Anaqua and Lecorpio.
Prepare supporting documents for all patent application filings, such as U.S. formal documents, declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney.
Work with inventors to get US formal documents properly executed and filed with the USPTO.
Prepare and file IDS and related materials with USPTO; utilize contracted resources as appropriate.
Oversee docketing processes and maintain quality control over docket.

Knowledge/Skills Required

Minimum of 10 years of foreign filing and prosecution experience working at a law firm.
Experience with USPTO Electronic Filing procedures.
Excellent knowledge of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures.
Good familiarity with client portal/docketing platforms (, Anaqua, Lecorpio, IPfolio).
High level of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, U.S. Patent Office Electronic Filing System, and internet research tools.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to work independently, prioritize assignments and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Should be proactive and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume filing and prosecution practice.
Reliable and dependable team player.
Strong work ethic, flexible, dependable, and positive can-do attitude.

This is a full-time position with benefits that include medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The salary for this position starts at $125,000/year and could increase depending on experience level. Annual performance-based bonuses also are provided.
