Full Job Description

East Cobb Psychiatry LLC, a highly rated outpatient telepsychiatry practice with 5-star patient reviews, is seeking Georgia-licensed physician collaborators with an active Georgia DEA registration.

This is a low-time-commitment collaboration opportunity for physicians who value careful prescribing, regulatory compliance, timely communication, and a well-established psychiatric practice.

About the Practice & Provider

East Cobb Psychiatry LLC is led by Shashank Kumar Jha, MBBS, ECFMG Certified, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, an experienced psychiatric clinician with approximately 30 years of combined prescribing experience as a physician and advanced practice registered nurse.

Mr. Jha began his medical career as a physician and subsequently transitioned to advanced-practice nursing in the United States. His experience includes neuropsychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, crisis psychiatry, addiction treatment, child/adolescent psychiatry, adult mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and psychopharmacology.

He has maintained an incident-free prescribing history throughout approximately 30 years of clinical practice and emphasizes conservative, evidence-based prescribing, careful documentation, PDMP review, appropriate monitoring, and adherence to applicable FDA labeling and federal and Georgia prescribing requirements.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a collaborating MD who:

Holds an active, unrestricted Georgia medical license
Has an active Georgia DEA registration
Is comfortable collaborating with an experienced PMHNP in an outpatient psychiatric practice
Can provide same-business-day review/signature when a physician signature is legally required for a stimulant prescription or related prescribing workflow
Is responsive by secure electronic communication
Is willing to fulfill the physician responsibilities required under the applicable Georgia APRN collaborative/delegation framework

The practice manages the day-to-day patient care, documentation, scheduling, medication monitoring, and administrative workflow. The intent is to make the collaboration efficient and minimally burdensome while maintaining meaningful clinical oversight and full regulatory compliance.

Patient Safety & Prescribing Standards

Protecting patients and the professional licenses of everyone involved is a core practice priority. Prescribing is conducted within applicable FDA labeling/guidance, Georgia law, DEA requirements, PDMP requirements, accepted standards of psychiatric practice, and the terms of the physician-APRN collaborative agreement.

Controlled substances are not prescribed casually. Appropriate diagnostic assessment, documentation, monitoring, risk-benefit evaluation, and controlled-substance safeguards are incorporated into the practice.

No clinician can eliminate all professional or regulatory risk, but our goal is to maintain a highly compliant, transparent, and defensible prescribing environment in which the collaborating physician is kept appropriately informed and never asked to approve prescribing outside their professional judgment or applicable law.

Compensation

$750 per month, per collaborating physician.

This is designed as an ongoing professional collaboration rather than a traditional hourly clinical position. The expected time commitment is limited, although availability for timely physician review/signature when legally necessary—particularly for stimulant prescribing—is important.
