Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Lead

Remote
12-Month Contract
Potential for Extension/Hire

Brooksource is seeking a Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Lead to join the IT Service Management (ITSM) Operations Team at one of our largest Fortune 200 energy generation clients. The ITSM Operations team is leading a ServiceNow CMDB transformation and supporting a strategic initiative called Device Connect, focused on improving hardware asset lifecycle management, auditing asset records, and implementing enterprise-wide best practices across the ServiceNow platform. Following the separation of our client's utility and generation businesses, the ServiceNow environment was cloned into a new domain, creating significant opportunities to improve data quality, governance, and platform maturity. The organization has recently enabled the CMDB reconciliation engine and is continuing to expand capabilities such as Discovery and Service Mapping.

The HAM Lead will serve as the technical and functional leader for Hardware Asset Management within ServiceNow, partnering closely with Architecture, CMDB, Discovery, ITSM, Infrastructure, and Asset Management teams to define standards, improve governance, and drive enterprise-wide adoption of HAM best practices. This individual will provide strategic leadership while remaining hands-on with platform administration and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field; OR equivalent professional experience

· 8+ years of professional experience working with ServiceNow

· 5+ years of experience supporting Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and/or IT Asset Management processes

2+ years administering ServiceNow IT Asset Management or Hardware Asset Management
5+ years working within an IT Service Management environment
Strong understanding of CMDB architecture, CI classes, relationships, and enterprise asset visibility
Experience designing, configuring, populating, and maintaining CMDB health
Knowledge of ServiceNow HAM, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITSM modules
Experience with manual data imports, reconciliation, and asset lifecycle management
Strong understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Certifications

· ServiceNow Fundamentals

· ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management

· ServiceNow Certified System Administrator

· ServiceNow Advanced System Administration

· ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 Foundation

Responsibilities

Serve as the enterprise lead for Hardware Asset Management processes and ServiceNow HAM administration.
Lead day-to-day HAM operations while providing strategic direction for the ITSM Operations team.
Own the Hardware Asset Management roadmap, identifying opportunities to improve data quality, automation, governance, and operational maturity.
Partner with Architecture, CMDB, Discovery, Infrastructure, Procurement, and IT Operations teams to improve asset lifecycle processes.
Establish and maintain governance, standards, and policies for Hardware Asset Management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across ServiceNow HAM, CMDB, and Discovery capabilities.
Oversee reconciliation activities including advance shipping notices, disposal certificates, hardware lifecycle events, and asset record integrity.
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of hardware asset data throughout the ServiceNow platform.
Provide leadership for ServiceNow enhancements related to Hardware Asset Management, including requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and production support.
Identify process gaps and recommend scalable solutions that improve enterprise asset visibility and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with business partners to understand operational needs and translate them into ServiceNow capabilities.
Lead IT activities related to service level agreements and prioritize work across multiple initiatives.
Develop reporting and metrics that measure Hardware Asset Management effectiveness and data quality.
Mentor junior analysts and administrators by providing technical guidance, process expertise, and professional development support.
Maintain strong relationships with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and service owners.
Stay current on ServiceNow capabilities and industry best practices related to Hardware Asset Management, CMDB, and IT Service Management.
