Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Title Abstractor to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will conduct comprehensive research and analysis of public records, legal descriptions, and real estate documentation to accurately compile property title histories. Your expertise will ensure precise title reports that facilitate smooth property transactions and support underwriting processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the integrity of real estate deals while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Conduct thorough research of public records, including deeds, easements, right-of-way documents, and other legal descriptions to establish clear property titles.
Review and interpret legal descriptions, maps, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to verify property boundaries and boundaries discrepancies.
Analyze title documents for accuracy and completeness in accordance with underwriting guidelines and legal standards.
Prepare detailed title abstracts, reports, and summaries that highlight pertinent information for title review and processing.
Collaborate with law offices, title companies, and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies or issues related to property titles.
Maintain organized records of research findings, legal descriptions, and mapping data for audit readiness and future reference.
Ensure compliance with real estate law, title processing procedures, and underwriting guidelines throughout all activities.

Qualifications

Proven experience in title abstracting or a related role within a law office or title company environment.
Strong knowledge of real estate law, legal descriptions, easements, right-of-way documentation, and public records research techniques.
Proficiency with mapping software, GIS tools, and other relevant technology used in property boundary analysis.
Excellent research skills with an eye for detail; ability to interpret complex legal documents accurately.
Familiarity with real estate documentation review processes and title review standards.
Ability to adhere strictly to underwriting guidelines while maintaining high-quality work standards.
Exceptional customer service skills when interacting with clients, stakeholders, or internal teams involved in the title process.
