The Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned, highly organized leader to serve as Sr. Director of Technical Services — the driving force behind our 24/7/365 field technical team. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of operations, customer relationships, and business development, requiring someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and holds themselves and their team to an exceptionally high standard.

You will own the full lifecycle of technical services delivery — from staffing and scheduling a team that operates around the clock, to being a trusted advisor to customers, to identifying and pursuing new revenue opportunities. This role reports to senior leadership and carries significant organizational weight.

What Our Technical Services Team Does

Our technical services team operates 24/7/365 in the field, delivering:

Inverter Services — diagnostics, repairs, and ongoing maintenance of inverter systems
Commissioning & Repowering — bringing new systems online and executing repowering projects
Major Incident Recovery — rapid response and resolution for critical, high-impact failures
MV/HV Work — medium and high voltage services in support of project scope

What You'll Own

Team Leadership & Operations

Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing technical services team operating in a demanding 24/7 environment
Build and maintain the schedules, workflows, and systems that keep the team running efficiently across multiple concurrent projects
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Recruit top technical talent and expand team capacity in line with business growth

Customer Engagement

Serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts — building trust, managing expectations, and driving satisfaction
Communicate clearly and proactively on project status, incident response, and service outcomes
Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with owners, asset managers, and EPCs across the industry

Business Development

Identify and pursue new service opportunities — leveraging your industry network and reputation to open doors
Partner with the sales and leadership team to develop proposals, scope work, and close deals
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity

What We're Looking For

10+ years of experience in solar or broader renewable energy technical services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Deep working knowledge of inverter systems, commissioning, and major incident response — you've been in the field and understand what the team faces
Experience with MV/HV systems is a strong plus
Proven ability to lead, scale, and motivate a technical team operating under pressure in a 24/7 environment
Strong customer-facing presence — you're polished, credible, and can hold your own in high-stakes conversations
A broad and active industry network — you know the players and they know you
Exceptional organizational skills — you can manage multiple workstreams, competing priorities, and a traveling team without losing a beat
Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
