Location: Remote, must reside in New Mexico — greater Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos, or Los Alamos areas · Full-time · Potential transition to in-office in year 2

About the role

We're a plaintiff-side litigation team handling mass tort matters, primarily in the sexual abuse and product liability space. Our intake specialists are the first person a potential claimant speaks with — often at a difficult moment in their lives. You'll guide people through the front end of the process: answering the first call, helping them complete our secure intake portal (or walking them through it by phone when they'd rather do that), gathering the facts that determine whether someone qualifies, documenting consent, and handing a clean, complete file to our interview and claim-workup teams.

This is a strong fit for someone building a career in law — whether you're in law school, on a paralegal track, or already have some legal or client-services experience and want deeper exposure to complex litigation.

This role is remote for the first year, but candidates must be based in New Mexico — specifically the greater Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos, or Los Alamos areas — with the potential to move in-office in year 2.

What you'll do

Serve as the first point of contact for prospective claimants by phone, email, web form, and chat, providing a warm, trauma-informed experience from the very first conversation.
Help claimants complete the secure intake portal, and conduct phone-based intake for those who prefer it or can't use the portal — every claimant should be able to reach us the way that works for them.
Gather and accurately record the facts needed to evaluate a potential claim (nature of the injury or abuse, timeline, location, relevant parties, prior legal contacts, document possession).
Screen claims against claim-specific eligibility criteria (statute-of-limitations windows, exposure/product requirements, jurisdiction) and flag anything uncertain for attorney or paralegal review.
Document and confirm consent, and handle sensitive personal and health information in compliance with HIPAA and firm privacy policy.
Schedule the in-depth interview and prepare a clean intake summary so the interviewer walks in fully briefed.
Enter and maintain claimant records in our case management system (CaseFlow), keeping everything organized, complete, and audit-ready.
Follow up with prospective claimants to collect missing information, signed agreements, and supporting records, keeping drop-off low.
Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, interviewers, and co-counsel to move qualified claimants smoothly from first contact through onboarding.

What we're looking for

Comfort discussing difficult, emotionally charged subject matter — many callers are survivors of abuse — with composure, patience, and compassion.
Strong active-listening and interpersonal skills; warm and professional under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication and clear, accurate, detailed note-taking.
Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage a high volume of contacts and records without letting things slip.
Reliable and discreet, with sound judgment around confidential and traumatic material.
Comfortable with computers and quick to learn case management / portal software.
Remote-ready: a reliable home internet connection, a private and secure space for confidential calls and HIPAA-protected records, and the self-discipline to manage a high volume of contacts independently.
Must reside in New Mexico — the greater Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos, or Los Alamos areas — with the option to move into the office in year 2.

Nice to have

Prior legal experience (law firm, court, or legal services), or current enrollment in law school or a paralegal program.
Interest in a paralegal career or another long-term path in law.
Exposure to mass tort, personal injury, or plaintiff-side / MDL litigation.
Familiarity with trauma-informed interviewing or survivor support.
Experience with case management / CRM software (Filevine, Salesforce, LeadDocket, or similar).
Bilingual (English/Spanish) — a real plus given our region and claimant base.

Salary range: $50,000–$55,000/year, depending on experience.

Paid training, trauma-informed communication training, and mentorship, with meaningful early-career experience on high-impact litigation and room to grow toward interviewer, paralegal, or lead-intake tracks.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
