ROLE OVERVIEW

The Solutions Architect owns the technical architecture for enterprise AI platforms and their connected AI agents, translating design specifications and business requirements into a buildable, secure, and scalable system architecture, and providing hands-on technical leadership across the engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Own end-to-end solution architecture for the AI governance platform and each connected AI agent.

Translate design specifications and discovery findings into a buildable architecture, including data flows, integration points, and control-plane separation (recommend / decide / execute).

Design the integration approach with enterprise systems of record via existing middleware, identity providers, and cloud infrastructure.

Define the AI recommendation/integration contract that agents use to interface with the governance platform, ensuring one consistent integration shape across current and future agents.

Establish architecture standards for risk-model registration, audit/observability, and configuration governance.

Lead architecture reviews, ensuring designs meet relevant compliance requirements (e.g., SOX ITGC, HIPAA, NERC-CIP, or applicable AI-governance frameworks).

Guide technology and tooling decisions — open-source components, cloud services, orchestration frameworks — and vet them against enterprise standards.

Partner with the Program Manager and Business Analyst to size effort and identify technical risk during discovery.

Mentor and provide technical direction to platform engineers, ML engineers, and full-stack developers throughout the build.

Support client architecture review boards and represent the technical solution to executive and IT stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years in solutions or enterprise architecture roles, including AI/ML-enabled systems and cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Demonstrated experience architecting governance/control-plane systems — approval routing, risk scoring, audit trails, or similar human-in-the-loop patterns.

Strong background integrating with enterprise systems of record (ERP, EAM, CRM, or similar) via middleware/ESB patterns.

Experience with identity federation (e.g., Entra ID/Azure AD), workload identity, and access-control frameworks (OPA, Cedar, or similar).

Working knowledge of AI agent design patterns, LLM integration, and multi-agent orchestration.

Familiarity with relevant regulatory/compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX ITGC, NERC-CIP, HIPAA, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, or similar).

Strong grasp of observability and audit patterns (OpenTelemetry, immutable/hash-chained audit records).

Excellent communication skills — able to defend architectural decisions to both technical and executive audiences.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Prior experience rebuilding or hardening a platform from a design specification alone (greenfield builds with elevated design risk).

Experience establishing a versioned, stable integration contract consumed by multiple independent teams or agents.

Background in utilities, energy, or other regulated/critical-infrastructure industries.

Experience mentoring engineers across ML, platform, and full-stack disciplines on a single shared delivery team.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
