Full Job Description

Senior Big Data Engineer

Location: Remote (Hybrid Preferred)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Compensation: $62.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Why Is This Position Open?

This is a newly created position supporting an expanded data services initiative. The team is growing its enterprise data capabilities and needs an experienced engineer to help scale cloud-based data platforms and support increasing business demand.

What You'll Do

Build and support cloud-based data solutions
Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python
Design ETL processes for large and complex data sets
Integrate new data sources into enterprise data platforms
Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders
Support AI/ML-related data initiatives
Troubleshoot production issues and support ongoing operations
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance

What We're Looking For

Strong Python development experience
Experience with ETL and data integration
Cloud experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure
Advanced SQL skills (SQL Server or PostgreSQL)
Experience working with large-scale data environments
Ability to work independently and drive projects forward

Nice to Have

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
HDFS or other big data technologies
Kubernetes
Docker
Dagster
AI/ML experience
Healthcare or supply chain experience
HL7 integrations
