Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant, where your expertise will drive financial accuracy and streamline administrative operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant organization that values precision, efficiency, and proactive support. You’ll be at the heart of managing essential financial data, supporting daily administrative functions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help us maintain smooth operations and foster a positive work environment.

Duties

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Prepare financial reports, statements, and summaries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards.
Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance.
Maintain organized records of financial transactions, supporting documentation, and audit trails for internal review or external audits.
Support administrative functions such as managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies to keep operations running smoothly.

Requirements

Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is desirable but not mandatory.
Experience with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations is advantageous.
Ability to perform detailed account analysis, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation efficiently.
Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in 10 key typing and data entry accuracy.
Familiarity with financial concepts such as budgeting, financial report writing, account analysis, and technical accounting practices.
Strong attention to detail combined with excellent communication skills to clearly document financial information.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy across multiple responsibilities.
