Job Description:
Title: Scheduler / SME
Reports to: Front Office Supervisor
Position Role:
The Scheduler is responsible for maintaining the office schedule for assigned physicians and has significant impact in the productivity and efficiency of their assigned physicians’ office schedules. This position answers patient calls, schedules appropriate time slots based on the type of appointment, reviews the schedule for appropriate use of time, and manages with the doctor and medical assistant any changes to the schedule. It is a fast-paced environment that requires team work of others and the ability to synthesize information from multiple people and manage a doctors’ offices schedule based upon all available information.
Office Operation
· Answers patient scheduling calls and presents a professional environment to the patient over the phone
· Schedule patient appointments and procedures
· Enter appointment and patient information into EMR
· Manage appointment no-shows, reschedules, and cancellations
· Maintains scheduling protocols for each physician
Meets with physicians regularly to review schedule, discuss patient needs, make recommendations for improvement, and implement physician feedback
· Maintains a cancellation list for patients who are waiting for appointments
· Contact patients when referrals are received from outside offices to facilitate appropriate follow-up
· Ensures that scheduling records are accurate and neat including maintaining patient files, medical records, obstetric logs, and scanning.
· Maintains a clean workspace, including in shared areas such as the breakroom and conference room

Salary: starting at $18.89/hr and top out for this job at $26.45/hr. Upper end of range reserved for candidates with extensive experience or longevity with OB/GYN Associates.
