Full Job Description

We are seeking several Utility Designers / Project Coordinators to support electric and gas distribution projects for a large, established utility organization. This position serves as the primary point of contact for customers, developers, contractors, engineering firms, and internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of utility infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with utility design, construction, engineering support, or project coordination experience who enjoy working directly with customers while managing projects from concept through completion.

Responsibilities

Design electric and/or gas distribution projects for new service installations, service upgrades, and system improvement initiatives.
Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and construction packages.
Coordinate utility requirements with customers, developers, contractors, engineering firms, and local agencies.
Serve as the primary contact throughout project execution, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.
Interpret and apply utility standards, tariffs, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare customer agreements, contracts, and project documentation.
Conduct project meetings with construction personnel, inspectors, and stakeholders.
Support project scheduling, construction coordination, and project closeout activities.
Deliver a high level of customer service while balancing operational and regulatory requirements.
Participate in emergency restoration efforts and rotational on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in utility design, utility construction, engineering support, project coordination, or a related field.
Knowledge of electric and/or natural gas distribution systems.
Familiarity with utility construction practices, standards, and regulations.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and project specifications.
Strong communication and customer relationship management skills.
Experience coordinating with contractors, developers, municipalities, or engineering firms preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project documentation systems.
