Full Job Description

HR Coordinator Job Overview

We are seeking an entry-level HR Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support to the Senior HR Generalist at our Fife, Washington location. This role will assist with day-to-day HR activities, including clerical and administrative tasks, maintaining employee records, supporting the recruitment and onboarding process, and helping ensure HR operations run smoothly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in Human Resources and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first point of contact for employees by responding to routine Human Resources questions and providing exceptional customer service.
Review, organize, and maintain employee personnel files (electronic and paper), including filing, scanning, and data entry.
Coordinate all onboarding activities, including preparing offer letters, completing new hire paperwork, conducting new hire orientation, and ensuring a positive onboarding experience.
Complete form I-9 employment eligibility verification and maintain compliance with employment verification requirements.
Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS, including new hires, status changes, transfers and compensation changes, and separations.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and maintaining compliance records.
Review employee timekeeping records for accuracy, coordinate corrections with supervisors, and process payroll-related personnel changes to support accurate payroll processing.
Support employee leave administration by coordinating leave documentation, maintaining records, and assisting employees with required paperwork.
Assist with HR administrative tasks such as data entry, file audits, and records management.
Maintain project to bring up to date accurate and up-to-date employee records, files, and HR databases.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws.
Provide general administrative support to the HR team.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requiring 1-3 years of relevant Human Resources or administrative experience preferred.
Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures, preferred.
Understanding of WA employment laws, preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Demonstrated experience and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Strong organizational skills and time management with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Good written and verbal communication skills. (English/Spanish)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Biliterate in English/Spanish required

Work Environment:

Office setting with regular use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets).
Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer, with frequent standing and walking throughout the workday.
Frequent verbal and written communication with employees, managers, and external partners.
Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, and lift or carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
Occasional exposure to warehouse, production, or refrigerated environments, including varying temperatures, machinery noise, and forklift traffic.
Full-time position, may require occasional overtime

Due to the collaborative and operational nature of this role, this position requires full-time, onsite attendance. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
