Full Job Description

Buyer/Sourcing Specialist in Beauty/Personal Care
Jocott Brands, a rapidly growing beauty products company with a portfolio of brands sold in multiple channels of trade, is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Buyer/Sourcing Specialist who can thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where multi-tasking is essential. Our key accounts include T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods and Urban Outfitters with lines for additional retailers in development. The Buyer/Sourcing Specialist will work closely with our Sourcing team.

Responsibilities:

Complete vendor quote comparisons and negotiations ensuring best price, delivery, and quality.

Interface with Product Development, Product Management, Shipping, Creative and Sales.

Develop and maintain high-quality vendor relations.

Support other positions and therefore need to have technical aptitude, attention to detail, strong communication skills – verbal and written, and an ability to find delivery solutions to meet production needs, customer requirements, and business objectives.

Maintain and evaluate a list of initial sources of supply and backup sources to ensure uninterrupted production.

Stay up-to-date with the latest news relating to port/logistic or supply domestically and internationally.

Source qualified new products and new vendors to fulfill the company’s roadmaps.

Own new product development schedule.

Create and maintain product libraries.

Other duties as assigned.

Have a comprehensive understanding of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).

As owner of the NPD process, maintain the process and drive improvements.

As the primary bridge to the NPD project team, provide inputs and guidance that would influence decisions in support of the sourcing strategy while meeting the project goals.

Lead, manage, make critical decisions, and report on NPD project ensuring project is in support of related manufacturing requirements and strategies.

Facilitate communications between sourcing team members and project team to ensure timely completion of tasks in NPD project.

Facilitate meeting with subject matter experts in order to ensure specific request topics are appropriately addressed, discussed, and sufficient information is gathered.

Develop a thorough understanding of the NPD process and related tasks such as cost analysis and build relationship with the cross functional teams – NPD, Creative, Purchasing, & Accounting teams.

Minimum Bachelors Degree in business, finance or supply management preferred.

Minimum 2+ years as a Sourcing personnel or Buyer.

Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint , and have strong communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and organizational skills.

Must demonstrate sound judgment, be well organized, take initiative, be flexible, work well under pressure, work effectively with both employee and management and be able to facilitate resolution of complex issues.

Ability to multi-task, ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

Work well within a team environment.
