Job Overview
We are a real estate development firm seeking a detail-oriented, proactive professional to join our team as a Bookkeeping and Construction Administration Specialist. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine financial expertise with construction project support, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and smooth administrative operations within the construction industry. You will play a vital part in maintaining precise financial data, managing accounts, paying bills, ordering materials and supporting project documentation, all while contributing to the efficient execution of construction projects. Responsibilities

Manage and maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communication.
Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations regularly to verify the accuracy of financial data.
Prepare detailed financial reports and assist with budgeting processes for construction projects.
Support payroll processing and ensure timely payment to employees and subcontractors.
Assist with tax preparation activities and maintain proper documentation for governmental reporting requirements.
Handle construction-specific administrative tasks such as tracking project costs, managing change orders, ordering materials, paying bills, and supporting project documentation workflows.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate tracking of project expenses and financial compliance throughout the construction lifecycle.
Utilize technical accounting knowledge to resolve complex issues related to governmental or non-profit accounting standards when applicable.

Qualifications

Proven experience with QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and double-entry bookkeeping methods.
Familiarity with construction administration tasks, including project cost tracking, change order management, and document control.
Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting practices is advantageous.
Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations accurately.
Excellent skills in financial report writing and account reconciliation procedures.
Experience with payroll processing and tax-related activities related to construction projects or organizations.
Strong attention to detail with proficiency in data entry accuracy.
Ability to interpret financial concepts clearly while maintaining transparency in reporting processes.
