Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Back Line Cook to join our culinary team at Drags. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and experience in fine dining or restaurant settings. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the kitchen operations to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

You must be able to work weekends. The main hours for this position are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between the times of 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
Assist in menu planning and daily meal preparation
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
Support food presentation and plating to meet aesthetic standards
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
Follow all food safety regulations and health department guidelines
Assist with catering events and special meal requests as needed
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Experience

Several years of previous dietary department or dietary aide experience required
Experience in fine dining or restaurant environments highly desirable
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards
Culinary experience including menu planning, meal preparation, and knife skills required
Familiarity with catering services and serving in a fast-paced kitchen setting
Proven ability to work effectively within a team in a culinary environment
