POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs Adult & Neonatal (cross-trained) Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE) and Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) examinations in compliance with protocols, and techniques, as outlined in Guidelines and Standards in the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS).
RESPONSIBILITES:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of SDMS or ASE recognized program

Two years experience in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred.

ARDMS board certification within one year of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
-
Works next to very ill and sometimes contagious patients.

Frequent major infection hazards.

There will be exposure to blood-borne pathogens that will require proper use of personal protective equipment as needed, e.g., eye, face, gown, lab coat, mask, and medical gloves.
As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience.
