Full Job Description

PCB - Assembly Technician

The PCB Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, inspection, rework, and testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCB-A) and complete electronic box-build products.

This is a hands-on electronics manufacturing role involving PCB soldering, mechanical assembly, wire harness installation, functional testing, and final product integration. The ideal candidate has prior experience in electronics manufacturing and is comfortable working in an ESD-controlled environment while following IPC workmanship standards.

Primary ResponsibilitiesPCB Assembly & Electronics Manufacturing

Assemble printed circuit board assemblies (PCB-A) following work instructions, drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
Perform hand soldering of through-hole and SMT components
Install, replace, and rework electronic components as required
Inspect assemblies for workmanship and quality using IPC standards
Assist with conformal coating, cleaning, masking, and board preparation
Support SMT production, machine setup, and line changeovers as assigned

Box Build & System Integration

Assemble complete electronic products, enclosures, and electromechanical assemblies
Build and install wire harnesses, cables, and connectors
Perform wire stripping, crimping, routing, lacing, and cable management
Install mechanical hardware using torque-controlled tools
Support potting, sealing, labeling, and final product packaging
Assist with functional testing and basic electrical verification

Quality & Production Support

Kit materials and stage production jobs
Follow ESD, IPC, ISO, and company quality procedures
Record production and traceability information accurately
Identify workmanship issues and report quality concerns promptly
Maintain clean and organized work areas using 5S principles
Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout production

Required Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in PCB assembly, electronics manufacturing, or EMS production
Experience with through-hole and SMT hand soldering
Familiarity with electronic components and PCB assemblies
Ability to read assembly drawings, work instructions, and Bills of Material
Experience using hand tools, torque drivers, crimp tools, and basic measuring equipment
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods
