Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry Teacher to teach high school-level AP Chemistry and/or Honors Chemistry. The ideal candidate has strong subject knowledge, at least 2 years of relevant teaching or tutoring experience, and the ability to explain complex chemistry concepts clearly and effectively.

This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with motivated high school students in a small-group or one-on-one learning environment and is committed to helping students build confidence, improve academic performance, and develop strong scientific reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

Teach high school AP Chemistry and/or Honors Chemistry courses.
Prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with students’ school curriculum and AP Chemistry standards when applicable.
Explain key chemistry topics clearly, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, acids and bases, electrochemistry, and laboratory-based concepts.
Create lesson plans, practice problems, quizzes, review materials, and test-preparation resources based on student needs.
Help students strengthen problem-solving skills, conceptual understanding, and exam strategies.
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents when needed.
Maintain a positive, organized, and supportive classroom environment.
Support students with homework, school exams, AP exam preparation, and long-term academic improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science Education, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching or tutoring experience in high school chemistry.
Strong knowledge of AP Chemistry and/or Honors Chemistry curriculum.
Experience working with high school students in a classroom, tutoring center, private school, or education center setting.
Ability to explain difficult chemistry concepts in a clear, structured, and engaging way.
Strong communication skills, reliability, patience, and professionalism.
Ability to create customized lesson materials based on students’ academic levels and goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Current or former high school Chemistry teacher, or educator with experience teaching high school-level Chemistry.
Experience teaching AP Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, or equivalent advanced chemistry coursework.
Familiarity with AP Chemistry exam preparation and high school curriculum standards.

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
