Specific responsibilities of an Executive Sous Chef will include:

Driving our high-quality employee standards by helping to maintain a fully staffed kitchen, fostering an inclusive environment, developing our kitchen Associates, and holding the team accountable in a constructive and supportive way.
Implementing effective security protocols to always ensure the ongoing safety of both our employees and guests.
Driving restaurant results by supervising the set-up and food production areas within the kitchen to maximize productivity and minimize waste. Ensuring line checks, testing, training, recipe adherence, expo management, cook times, cooking, etc.
Taking pride in presenting quality food by ensuring that all menu items are made according to recipe and the presentation is to our high standards.
Enforcing safety and sanitation practices by showcasing a passion for excellence and maintaining immaculate facilities.

Culinary Operations & Quality Control

Assist the Chef Partner. in planning, coordinating, and executing all culinary operations.
Supervise all Sous Chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure proper preparation and presentation of dishes.
Lead the kitchen during service, ensuring speed, accuracy, and consistency.
Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets quality, taste, and presentation standards.

Leadership & Team Management

Train, motivate, and mentor kitchen staff; reinforce culinary techniques and service standards.
Oversee staffing schedules, station assignments, and shift management.
Provide constructive feedback and support in performance evaluations.
Foster a respectful, positive, and efficient team environment.

Menu Execution & Development

Assist with menu planning, recipe testing, and seasonal menu changes.
Will assist in creating New menu items
Ensure recipes and plating guides are followed consistently.

Kitchen Administration

Help manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies.
Oversee proper storage and rotation (FIFO).
Assist with planning labor needs and controlling food cost.
Support vendor relationships and help negotiate pricing when needed.

Food Safety & Compliance

Enforce all health department regulations and internal food safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Train staff in sanitation procedures, PPE, and safe food handling practices.
Oversee temperature logs, cleaning checklists, and compliance documentation.

Operational Support

Step into the Chef Partner role when they are off duty or unavailable.
Collaborate with front-of-house managers to ensure smooth service.
Participate in special events, catering, banquets, or off-site functions.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years prior kitchen supervisory or kitchen management experience
Minimum of 5 years of previous polished casual or fine dining experience preferred
Availability to work a flexible schedule
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Must be at least 21 years of age
Basic computer proficiency preferred

Compensation Range: Varies By Location - Varies by Location, based on a 45-hour work week (40 hours of regular and 5 hours of overtime)
