Duties

Supervise all kitchen staff, including cooks, dietary aides, and food service personnel, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly to meet high standards of quality and presentation
Implement and monitor food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and industry best practices
Plan menus that balance nutritional value, customer preferences, and innovative culinary trends
Coordinate catering events and special meal services with attention to detail and efficiency
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimize kitchen resources
Train team members on proper food handling techniques, knife skills, and sanitation procedures

Skills

Extensive dietary department experience with knowledge of specialized dietary needs
Proven dietary aide experience supporting nutritional programs in healthcare or institutional settings
Strong menu planning skills that incorporate diverse cuisines and dietary restrictions
Fine dining experience demonstrating attention to detail in presentation and service excellence
Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards
Restaurant experience with a focus on high-quality food service operations
Comprehensive kitchen experience including meal preparation, catering, and food industry knowledge
Excellent knife skills for efficient prep work and precision cutting techniques
Deep understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
