About the Role

As a Precision CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in our high-precision manufacturing environment by transforming raw materials into complex, flight-critical components. You will leverage your technical expertise in Mastercam programming and multi-axis machining to ensure every part meets rigorous aerospace quality standards.

Responsibilities

Configure and operate advanced CNC horizontal lathes, vertical turning lathes, and 5-axis machining centers to achieve precise tolerances.
Develop and refine CNC programs using Mastercam to optimize production efficiency and part accuracy.
Interpret complex engineering blueprints and GD&T specifications to guide the fabrication of custom tooling and fixtures.
Analyze data from coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to perform real-time adjustments and tool offsets.
Proactively troubleshoot machining errors and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain consistent output.
Perform critical quality inspections using precision measurement tools to ensure compliance with industry-specific standards.
Collaborate with the production team to uphold safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Proven experience in CNC machine setup, operation, and program editing.
Demonstrated proficiency with Mastercam software and G-code.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
Expertise in using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
High school diploma or equivalent with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Preferred Skills

Experience working with aerospace-grade alloys and complex metal fabrication.
Background in mentoring junior staff or leading small production teams.
Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
Demonstrated success in high-mix, low-volume precision manufacturing environments.
