Full Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: Assists with the provision of rehabilitation services for persons in recovery from chemical dependency. Technicians are not responsible for admitting, transferring, or discharging clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Efficient work planning

Maintains a current knowledge of house and client activities.
Plans work tasks to coincide with house schedules.
Sets priorities in monitoring client activities, making house rounds, adherence to medication times, documentation of pertinent information and completion of other assignments.
Available to clients for questions and other assistance.
Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
Is highly dependable and can be counted on to work independently
Ability to work with little direction.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of responsibilities

Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of program philosophy, goals and policies and procedures, and house expectations and functions.
Assists with admission evaluations, orientation of new clients and staff, and maintaining client records.
Knowledge of client goals and promotes their plans for achieving them.
Functions as a positive role model for clients.
Serves as a resource for clients and co - workers.
Documentation of client information in the client log and completion of other forms.
Clearly understands the program mission and how his / her work integrates with and advances the goals of the program.

Effectively problem-solves and makes

Able to use a systemic approach in sounds decisions solving problems, while exhibiting good judgment and realistic understanding of issues.
Objectively documents and resolves problems related to clients or other co – workers.
Supports staff and management in making decisions.
Diplomatic and exhibits sensitivity toward other staff and client’s feelings, needs, values, and opinions.

Willingness to seek assistance in making decisions.

Supports team building efforts of the program

Seeks to continuously improve by soliciting input from co-workers and management and responding constructively to feedback.

Participates in staff meetings.

Promotes excellent rehabilitation services for clients

Supports the Pathway House mission to provide a high quality chemical dependency rehabilitation program.
Supportive of management decisions.
Aware of client goals and objectives. Positively supports clients in attaining their goals while maintaining an atmosphere of responsibility and accountability.
Possess the ability to diffuse potentially volatile situations--follows through to ensure solutions are properly implemented and reported.
Supports the dignity and respect of all clients.

Attendance/Punctuality

Adheres to attendance / absence policies. Punctual in reporting for work and shift change reports.
Participates in rotational / off - shift schedules when appropriate or scheduled.
Is willing to work additional hour / off - shift as needed.

Skillfully interacts with co-workers, clients, guests and referring agencies.

Reports and resolves conflicts with co-workers and clients.
Ability to set boundaries with co - workers and clients.
Keeps supervisor / Program Director informed of all appropriate developments.
Performs in a professional manner when interacting with co-workers, clients, guests and individuals of referring agencies and other individuals coming to the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of Human Services Technician Training Program, previous experience in human services and / or healthcare environment.
Demonstrated skills in areas related to chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation, including :
knowledge and understanding of Rule 31 9530.6405 to 9530.6505, and Minnesota Statutes, sections 245A.04,245A.65, 626.556, and 626.557
knowledge of basic health assessment procedures
ability to perform basic client care functions, including monitoring client hygiene and behavior as it relates to health issues.
Direct experience with chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation, preferably a minimum of one year experience.
Documentation of one year freedom from chemicals. ( if applicable)
Must be eighteen years old.
CPR / 1stAid / Medication certified or equivalent.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
