Maintenance Shift Manager

**DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY***

Pay: Competitive, based on experience $80 - 100,000 annual

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Maintenance Shift Manager to lead a maintenance team in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing mechanical and electrical maintenance operations, supporting production, driving preventive maintenance initiatives, and ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and team performance.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise maintenance technicians during assigned shift
Coordinate maintenance activities to support production schedules
Respond to equipment breakdowns and prioritize emergency repairs
Plan and oversee preventive maintenance programs using a CMMS
Train, coach, and develop maintenance team members
Approve timecards, schedule staff, and manage daily work assignments
Ensure compliance with safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, and Hot Work procedures
Partner with Production, Sanitation, Engineering, and other departments to improve equipment performance and efficiency
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor equipment performance and recommend process improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime
Maintain compliance with company safety, quality, and food safety standards

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field) preferred
2+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
5+ years of maintenance experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or high-speed manufacturing preferred
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma is a plus
Certified Plant Maintenance Professional (CPMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred

Work Environment

Combination of office and production floor work
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, wet or slippery conditions, and forklift traffic
Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
