Full Job Description

The Banquet Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of banquet events including set-up, food presentation, service, and cleanup, while focusing on event details, quality, presentation and customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Full-time management position requiring schedule flexibility, ability to work weekends and holidays, and a varied mix of day and evening shifts.
3 to 5 years of experience in a Food & Beverage management role preferred. Minimum 1 year in banquet events.
A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a large volume and fast-paced environment.
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of POS systems.
Detail oriented and organized with proven leadership skills and ability to deliver results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Support and manage the hotel banquet department while working closely with the food & beverage team.
Oversee a variety of events including meetings, conferences, special events, social events and holiday functions. Ensure proper preparation and execution of events including presentation and timeliness of food and beverage, proper room sets, audio/visual needs and other details specified for each function.
Recruit, hire, and train staff. Manage team members to create a strong service and results-oriented culture. Evaluate staff performance and coach as needed to achieve optimal performance.
Ensure proper staffing levels and assign daily work duties. Ensure all checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing duties are completed for each shift.
Approach guest encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Take an active role in understanding and anticipating guest needs to provide authentic and personalized service. Ensure a timely response to guest needs and address concerns beyond satisfaction.
Regularly review service scores to identify areas of improvement and react accordingly.
Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and credit card transactions.
Perform administrative responsibilities including scheduling, ordering of supplies, and weekly payroll.
Ensure compliance with company and brand standards and policies, as well as compliance with sanitation, safety, security and emergency procedures.
Any other duties / tasks as requested.
