About Eisco Scientific
Eisco exists to make a difference—with our products, our people, and our purpose. As the parent company of Eisco, a global leader in scientific manufacturing and education, we support classrooms, laboratories, and research organizations worldwide. Our team is passionate about science, service, and helping our customers succeed.
The Role
We are seeking a Staff Accountant with 2-4 years of professional accounting experience to join Eisco’s Finance team. This is a hands-on contributor role: the Staff Accountant owns daily accounts payable and accounts receivable entry, weekly AP payment selection, weekly AR aging and collections, own a portion of the month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and is anchored entirely in Finance. They are accountable for a defined set of Finance Rocks every quarter, tracked through our EOS cadence. The role focuses on building deep mastery of Eisco’s accounting workflows—transactional accuracy, timely close, and clean reconciliations—rather than cross-functional project work.
This role is designed for an accountant who has the fundamentals - debits and credits, the close cycle, reconciliations—and is ready to take ownership of recurring AP/AR workflows and grow as a core member of the Finance team.
Home Function: Finance
The Staff Accountant’s reporting line is to the Controller. Finance is the operational anchor—providing continuity, stability, and a consistent lens for evaluating work through an accounting framework. All Rocks are set in Finance.
EOS Alignment
The Staff Accountant operates on the EOS quarterly cycle. Finance Rocks are defined, agreed upon, and tracked via the EOS LMA (Leadership, Management, Accountability) cadence. The Staff Accountant participates in the Finance L10 meeting.
Selection & Entry Bar
A formal interview process is required, including functional interviews with the Controller, a technical accounting screen (AP/AR entry, reconciliations, journal entries, close-cycle scenarios), and an assessment of EOS cultural fit, values alignment, and professional maturity.
Oversight Model
The Controller manages the Staff Accountant day-to-day, owns the Finance Rocks, reviews close-cycle work, approves weekly AP payment selections, and reviews the weekly AR aging. The CFO provides indirect oversight through the Finance L10 cadence and quarterly Rock reviews.
Q1 Rocks — Finance & Accounting (Months 1–3)
The Staff Accountant’s first quarter is focused on building fluency in Eisco’s close cycle, chart of accounts, AP and AR workflows, and reconciliation cadence.
