Company Overview
Rochester Medical Transportation (RMT) and Transpo Bus Services (TBS) operate under a shared ownership, providing essential transportation services in their respective sectors. RMT specializes in non-emergency medical transportation for diverse client needs, while TBS offers daily school bus services to over a thousand students across multiple areas.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Recruiting and Payroll Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will be at the forefront of attracting top talent to support our growing transportation services. Your energetic approach will help us identify, engage, and secure skilled candidates across various roles, ensuring our teams are staffed with passionate and qualified professionals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your recruiting expertise, HR sourcing skills, and relationship management abilities to make a meaningful impact on our organization’s success. In addition, this position will process weekly payroll and manage payroll-related tasks.

Responsibilities

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle across various roles
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements
Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews to assess candidate fit
Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring manager
Maintain a strong candidate pipeline for current and future hiring needs
Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process
Conduct and follow up on multiple background checks
Maintain accurate candidate records using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Provide administrative support and data entry of information
Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation
Process weekly payroll accurately and on time
Manage payroll-related tasks, including garnishments and deductions
Generate and review weekly and monthly payroll reports
Ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures
Support overall payroll and HR administrative functions

Qualifications

Proven experience in recruiting within a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills for engaging candidates and managing relationships effectively.
Familiarity with ATS platforms and HRIS systems like Paychex.
Knowledge of employment & labor law to ensure compliant hiring practices across all levels of the organization.
Experience with processing payroll, garnishments and knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.

Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
