Full Job Description

The Rubber Group is looking to add to our team. We are looking for a Buyer/Planning Agent for our Rochester, NH Location

The Buyer/Planning Agent is responsible for providing purchasing activities supporting The Rubber Group’s production and operations. Placing purchase orders per requisition and demand as identified by planning, requisition, Kanban, and/or system demand reports. Obtain PO confirmations for placed PO’s to include price, due date, and material correctness per Work Instruction. Reporting any material interruptions or late due dates to Planning and Sr. Buyer. Resolve invoice and packing slip discrepancies. Maintain favorable supplier relations. Support quoting activities as directed. Reporting deviations from standards and acting accordingly to the company safety policy and procedures.

Essential/Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

· Following all health and safety requirements, safety policy and company policy. Report any observed violation to the superior or hazardous situation to the Safety Committee

Place purchase orders as required to meet production material demand
Confirm PO confirmations are received from suppliers, and inquire as necessary to complete task
Proactively engage suppliers on any PO discrepancies, late due dates, price and material errors.
Work with Receiving to resolve supplier packing slip discrepancies
Work with AP to resolve any invoice discrepancies
Interact with other TRG functions as required to ensure material requirements are met and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Drive planned PO’s to ensure Customer Orders are delivered in time
Monitor ERP system reports to action late supplier PO’s
Work closely with co-workers to help each other to make sure the day’s tasks are done
Maintaining a safe and clean workspace
Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Thoughtful, fair, and even-handed temperament

· Team oriented

· Follow applicable work instructions and SOP’s

· Computer literate – good computer skills

· Ability to multitask

· Ability to read, understand and follow written work instruction

· Ability to perform basic mathematical computation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

· Plan material deliveries to meet production demand

· Ability to clearly communicate issues to TRG team

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; verbally and written

· Good organizational and prioritization skills

· Good supplier relationship management

Education and Experience Requirements:

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of 2 years prior purchasing experience or college degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain

· Familiarity with ERP/MRP software

· Negotiation skills

· Good working knowledge of MS Office and Excel

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
