About the Job:

Bristol Instruments is a world leader in optical interferometer-based instrumentation. We serve customers in top scientific research institutions, telecommunications, and optical metrology communities. At Bristol Instruments, we believe that providing reliable, cutting-edge metrology solutions to our customers creates opportunities.

The Instrumentation Technician assembles tests and troubleshoots Bristol’s optical instrumentation. This work can be applied across multiple product lines and applications.

We continue to grow and are lookingto add to our Production Team to keep up with sales demand.

Responsibilities:

Perform precise assembly of electrical, mechanical and optical components.
Install electrical parts and hardware in assemblies using soldering equipment and hand tools.
Ensuring adherence to technical specifications and verbal instructions.
Must be capable of reading and understanding mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, work orders and test procedures.
Inspect parts for physical defects.
Align lenses and mirrors.
Utilize diagnostic tools to ensure systems meet performance specifications.
Ability to create / improve processes

Core Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the assembly and soldering of electro-optical systems or similar high-precision technologies.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, crimpers, soldering equipment and measurement instruments. Experience with optical components is also highly desirable.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs at waist level for under 1 minute. Must be able to lift up to 17 lbs above head for under 1 minute. Standing, walking, bending, kneeling for extended periods.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment while managing individual responsibilities. A “will learn/can-do/will cooperate” attitude is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
