Full Job Description

Concrete Batch Plant Operator / Batchman — Brand New Plant, Gastonia NC

We are opening a brand new plant in Gastonia, and we're looking for the Batchman who's going to run it.

This isn't stepping into someone else's plant. The concrete hasn't been poured yet. You'll come in ahead of startup, help commission the system, set the calibrations, dial in the mixes, and build the routine the way you know it should be done. After that, it's your plant.

The setup:

Brand-new Dry Batch Plant, Batch system — Sysdyne
You batch and run the plant. You're not also dispatching, running the loader, and answering the sales phone. We have a full-time QC manager handling cylinders and mix design, and you'll work directly with him .
Owner-run company. When you need a part, a repair, or a decision, you call the owner and get an answer that day. No corporate ticket queue.

What we pay:

Starting at $1,700/week
Health, dental, vision after 90 days · PTO · Paid holidays available too
$1,000 startup bonus at 90 days once the plant is running.
Early starts around 5:00-6 AM to hit first pours, generally done by mid-afternoon. Availability for half days on Saturdays if needed.

What you need:

Experience operating a ready-mix batch plant dry batch or central mix
Comfortable with computerized batching: moisture compensation, scale calibration, admix dosing, load-cell checks, troubleshooting when a gate sticks or problems in general arise
Understand what mix designs actually do you should know why the water's high before the driver calls you about it
NCDOT concrete batch certification a strong plus
Basic mechanical ability.
