Boston Salads specializes in offering a diverse range of premium deli salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. The Sales Account Manager’s role is to expand Boston Salads’ client base through personal outreach, cultivating incoming interest, superior account maintenance, and attending trade shows and industry events. The Account Manager will be responsible for guiding customers through the entire sales cycle, including conducting on-site meetings or tastings, generating proposals, negotiating pricing, and managing ongoing orders. Territories: New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. 75% local/regional travel required.

Specific Responsibilities:

Prospect and profitably grow business with new and existing customers, with a focus on exceeding annual goals
Onboard new customer accounts, including communication, documentation, credit approval, marketing materials, signage, follow-up, etc.
Professional and hands-on management of established accounts through the entire sales cycle
Ability to develop business relationships that allow for root cause issue resolution. Responds to all customer questions within 24 hours.
Develop and maintain good, professional working relationships with Director of Sales as well as key stakeholders; meet with sales team occasionally in Boston
Keep records of all new business efforts and activity; track data on company sales database; run and analyze data reports
Host product tastings and meet with prospective and existing customers
Keep abreast of Boston Salads’ product initiatives and offerings as well as competitive intelligence
Work in compliance with Boston Salads’ sales policies and initiatives
Take a proactive position in ensuring the highest quality service standards, billing accuracy, and resolution follow-through
Collaborate with Production team to ensure inventories for future orders
Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Work Experience:

Must have at least 5 years of successful sales experience in food industry sales
Experience with sales systems and databases; experience running sales reports and analyses
Must have working knowledge of credit and billing processes and be comfortable discussing account financials with customers

Job Skills:

Must have demonstrable sales ability, customer service skills, knowledge of our products, and food manufacturing business in general
Polished communicator
Must have dedication to excellence and a strong work ethic; extremely motivated; highly productive; go-getter
Good with numbers; analytical; must love data
Must have very strong attention to detail; good proofer
Positive, collaborative work style; talk less and listen more; can develop relationships with key players in the industry

Boston Salads requires background checks and, as part of a federally regulated industry, pre-employment drug testing, including marijuana.
