We are seeking a real creative rockstar (attitude required) in a Senior Designer role. A true go-getter that needs no micro-managing. You must be able to handle a ranging scope of responsibility with each project and be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity. Stuff changes. Constantly. And you'll need to be ok with that. Strong attention to detail and professionalism are required but we can't have someone taking themselves too seriously. If you consider yourself inflexible, don't like to have fun, and laughing at work is your enemy then this won't be a great position for you.
The Senior Designer is responsible for completing assigned interior design tasks and projects and supporting the Principal and Lead Designer in high-specification, unique residential projects. They will manage projects from concept through install, own project budgets and timelines, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
Responsibilities:
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
- Participate in mood and design concepts
- Source fixture and material selections
- Review floor plans, mood & layout, and design presentation boards
- Finalize design boards and prepare client presentations
- Redline design detail documents
- Maintain knowledge of space planning, market trends, and products
- Participate in design markets, vendor classes, and training sessions as assigned (travel may be required)
DESIGN EXECUTION
- Create and manage detailed project budgets
- Request and enter custom quotes and bids
- Manage and meet timelines of design process deliverables
- Visit ongoing project sites bi-weekly to review design details
- Ensure designs are executed according to project documentation and L&L brand standards
- Identify, forecast, and escalate project risks to the supervisor in a timely manner
CLIENT & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Lead client meetings and manage client expectations
- Communicate client costs timely and effectively
- Prepare and send proposals
- Provide clear, timely, and professional communication
PROCUREMENT + INSTALLATION
- Create purchase orders
- Ensure all materials are received as specified
- Manage install preparation
GENERAL
- Complete design and administrative tasks as assigned
- Promote L&L Guiding Principles and consistently work toward improving the team and client experience
- Additional tasks as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities:
- A degree in interior design with a minimum of 4 years residential design experience, OR a minimum of 7 years work experience in a similar position
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot when issues arise and see jobs through to the end
- Proficiency in Sketchup is required; Photoshop and 2020 Kitchen Design software is highly preferred
- Proficient computer skills; A knowledge of Apple & Google products is required
- Strong financial understanding of project costs including budget awareness
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communicator, confident in dealing with a wide range of individuals
- Comfortable with ever-changing needs and ambiguity
- Ability to lift up to 45lb
- Must have an active driver’s license and a clean driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
