Gallaher Signature Construction, our in-house general contracting team, builds a growing portfolio of luxury multifamily communities, boutique senior living, commercial real estate, and custom residential projects across the North Bay. As a vertically integrated developer-builder, our construction team works directly with ownership, design partners, and operations from day one — which means faster decisions, real accountability, and the opportunity to see projects through from entitlement to occupancy.

The Position

The Superintendent is the field leader of a Gallaher project — the person who turns drawings, budgets, and schedules into a finished building. We're looking for an experienced, safety-first Superintendent to run day-to-day field operations on our ground-up multifamily, senior living, and commercial projects. You'll own the jobsite: schedule execution, trade coordination, quality control, safety, and logistics, working in close partnership with the Project Manager and directly with company leadership.

This role is ideal for a field leader who wants ownership without the bureaucracy of a large GC. Because we build for our own portfolio, quality decisions get made on their merits, and you'll have a direct line to the people who own the buildings you build. As our project pipeline grows, there is real opportunity to advance into General Superintendent and field operations leadership.

Responsibilities

Own all field operations on assigned projects — schedule execution, trade coordination, site logistics, quality, and safety — from mobilization through closeout.

Build, maintain, and drive the master construction schedule with the Project Manager, and manage three-week look-ahead planning with trade partners.

Lead jobsite safety: enforce the site-specific safety plan, conduct safety meetings and inspections, and hold all trades accountable to OSHA and company standards.

Direct and sequence subcontractors day to day, resolving field conflicts and holding trade partners accountable to schedule, quality, and manpower commitments.

Enforce quality control standards, lead pre-installation meetings and mock-up reviews, and verify work in place meets plans, specifications, and company expectations.

Manage municipal and third-party inspections, maintaining inspection records and driving timely resolution of corrections.

Maintain accurate field documentation in Procore — daily logs, manpower, progress photos, delay notices, and as-built markups.

Review RFIs, submittals, and design changes for constructability and field impact, and communicate resolutions to trade partners before work is affected.

Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, hoisting, SWPPP compliance, and public-facing impacts with neighbors and local agencies.

Mentor Assistant Superintendents and field staff, building the next generation of Gallaher field leadership.

Lead punch list and closeout, delivering a complete, quality building to operations on schedule.

Requirements

7+ years of field supervision experience in commercial, multifamily, or senior living construction, with at least one ground-up project delivered as the lead Superintendent.

Deep knowledge of construction means and methods across structural, envelope, and MEP trades, including wood-frame and podium construction.

Proven ability to build and manage CPM schedules and drive trade partners to milestone completion.

Strong command of building codes, inspection processes, and the California permitting and inspection environment; North Bay experience preferred.

OSHA 30 certification; current First Aid/CPR preferred.

Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software (MS Project).

Strong leadership and communication skills — able to run a jobsite with authority while maintaining productive trade partner relationships.

Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines independently.
