Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk who is bilingual in Mandarin to join our finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and streamline the company’s receivables processes, ensuring timely collections and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Duties

Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation using various accounting systems such as Sage, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks.
Communicate effectively with clients in Mandarin and English to resolve billing discrepancies, negotiate payment plans, and facilitate collections.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions within billing software and spreadsheets, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
Perform detailed analysis of accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and initiate collection efforts.
Reconcile customer accounts through data entry, journal entries, and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing reports, performing account analysis, and supporting audit processes related to receivables.
Collaborate with internal teams on accounts payable, revenue cycle management, and client communication to optimize cash flow and enhance customer satisfaction.

Skills

Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential for effective client communication and negotiation.
Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding (for medical billing), and revenue cycle management.
Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with billing software preferred.
Excellent Excel skills including formulas, data analysis, spreadsheets management, and Excel data analysis techniques.
Knowledge of GAAP standards, SOX compliance procedures, and technical accounting practices.
Experience managing collections accounts with a focus on customer service and negotiation skills to resolve overdue balances efficiently.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD-10 codes (for healthcare-related roles), governmental accounting standards or non-profit accounting is a plus.
Strong attention to detail in account reconciliation, data entry accuracy (including 10 key typing), and bookkeeping practices.
Effective phone etiquette for client communication combined with problem-solving skills for account analysis and credit assessment.
