Full Job Description

Precision Camera & Video is Texas’ premier camera, photography, and video store — family-owned and serving the Austin community since 1976. As the largest camera store in Texas, we operate three retail locations (Anderson Lane and Southpark Meadows in Austin, and The Woodlands), an online store, a photo lab, a rental department, an in-house repair shop, and a full slate of photography and video classes.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role owns the reconciliation work that keeps our books accurate across all three locations — bank and cash-clearing reconciliations, credit card/AR receivables, and payroll- and HR-related accounting — while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and audit and tax preparation. It's a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented accountant who wants real ownership of responsibilities at a growing local business.

Responsibilities Include:

Prepare and maintain monthly bank reconciliations for all operating accounts across our three Texas locations.
Reconcile cash-clearing accounts and daily store cash logs, researching and resolving discrepancies with store teams in a timely manner.
Reconcile credit card and AR receivables — merchant processor deposits, fees, and chargebacks — to the general ledger.
Process and reconcile payroll-related journal entries; support HR-related accounting needs, including the bi-weekly 401(k) contribution upload and benefit deductions.
Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.
Maintain supporting schedules — prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets — and assist the Controller with monthly financial statement preparation.
Serve as a secondary resource to the AP Clerk on vendor and payables questions as needed.
Support the annual audit and tax return process by preparing schedules and documentation requested by our outside accountants.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned by the Controller.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience; retail or multi-location experience a plus.
Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP software.
High attention to detail and the organizational skills to manage multiple reconciliations against monthly deadlines.
Clear, professional communicator who works well with store teams, HR, and outside accountants.
Discretion handling confidential payroll and HR-related financial information.
