Job Overview

You’ve been out two or three years. You’re actually good at this now. And you keep having the same thought.

Not on the hard days, on the good ones. When you figure out something two other clinicians missed, and then you look around at how the place is run and think: I’d do this differently. I’d do this better.

Then the thought dies where it always dies. You’ve never seen a P&L. You don’t know what credentialing actually takes, or what a lease negotiation looks like, or how much cash you’d need to survive the first year, or whether you’d even be good at the parts that aren’t treating patients.

So you file it under “someday” and go back to your caseload.

Here’s the honest problem and nobody is ever going to teach you this. Not DPT school. Not residency. And definitely not a clinic that benefits from you staying exactly where you are. Most PTs who open a practice learn it by making expensive mistakes with their own money.

Beyond becoming a sharper clinician, you get structured exposure to the business — the real thing, not a sanitized version:

The numbers. You’ll see this clinic’s actual P&L. Payer mix, reimbursement per visit, cost per visit, arrival and cancellation rates, what break-even looks like in a given month. Open book.
The systems. Scheduling and capacity, revenue cycle, credentialing, EMR, compliance and how each one works and how each one breaks.
The people part. Hiring, onboarding, setting expectations, coaching, and having the conversation you’re dreading. This is what sinks most first-time owners, and it’s the hardest part to learn alone.
Growth. Physician and referral relationships, community and employer partnerships, marketing that actually produces patients instead of impressions.
A standing 1-on-1 with the owner. Regular coaching where you can ask anything including “how much did that mistake cost you” and “what would you do differently.”

The path is defined

Strong clinician → leadership responsibilities → clinic director → equity and ownership opportunity as we open and acquire new locations.

You’ll know within one to two years whether ownership is genuinely for you — before you’ve risked a dollar of your own.

And if you go through this and decide you’d rather just treat patients? That’s a good outcome too. Far better to find that out here than after you’ve signed a ten-year lease.

The clinical work

One-on-one care with active adults, athletes, runners, and golfers. Manual therapy, dry needling, corrective exercise, and comprehensive movement assessment. Real autonomy over your plan of care. No three-patients-an-hour mill, no protocol printouts.

Who this is for

Licensed PT in Texas or license-eligible, roughly 2+ years in practice
Still actively trying to get better clinically — you’re reading, taking courses, asking questions
You care about people, not just pathology
You’re ambitious, and you’d say so out loud
