Position Overview
Skycrafted Imaging is looking for a motivated, creative, dependable, and personable Media Specialist to join our full-time team in Austin, Texas.
As a Media Specialist, you will travel to scheduled job sites, capture professional photo and video content, operate camera and drone equipment, direct clients on camera, and upload completed media at the end of the day.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys photography, videography, travel, working with people, and the fast-paced nature of real estate media. Each day is different. You may photograph a luxury home, film social media content for a business, capture aerial footage of a land listing, or help a client develop their personal brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Review daily assignments through the company’s order portal.
- Travel to residential, commercial, land, and business properties throughout the service area.
- Capture professional real estate photography and video.
- Operate professional cameras, gimbals, stabilizers, and related equipment.
- Capture aerial photography and video using drones.
- Direct clients and talent during video shoots.
- Coach clients on how to speak and act naturally on camera.
- Help create scripts, talking points, and video concepts.
- Assist clients with personal branding and social media content.
- Think creatively and solve problems on location.
- Adapt to changing lighting, weather, property conditions, and client needs.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and team members.
- Upload and organize completed media at the end of each workday.
- Properly care for and maintain company-provided equipment.
- Represent Skycrafted Imaging in a professional, positive, and personable manner.
Schedule and Work Environment
This is a full-time position with a variable schedule based on client demand and scheduled appointments.
- Workdays may vary in length.
- Some days may be short, while others may require extended hours.
- Early-morning and late-evening shoots may occasionally be scheduled.
- Sunrise and sunset shoots are part of the job when requested by clients.
- Driving between multiple job sites may be required.
- Some days may involve one to six hours of driving.
- The service area may extend up to a two-hour radius from a job location.
- Travel fees are covered; however, employees must use their own reliable vehicle and will accumulate mileage.
- Much of the work takes place outdoors, including on large land listings and other expansive properties.
- Candidates must be comfortable working in hot weather, changing conditions, and physically demanding outdoor environments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Reliable personal vehicle suitable for daily travel.
- Willingness to travel throughout Southeast and Central Texas.

- Basic understanding of photography and videography principles.
- Familiarity with camera operation and video production.
- Familiarity with using a gimbal or other camera stabilization equipment.
- Willingness to learn and follow company processes and creative standards.
Drone Requirements
A current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required to conduct commercial drone operations.
Applicants who do not currently hold a Part 107 license may still be considered. After hiring, Skycrafted Imaging will pay for the required Part 107 course. The certification must be successfully completed before the employee conducts commercial drone operations.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is preferred but not required:
- Professional real estate photography or videography.
- Social media or personal-branding video production.
- Directing people on camera.
- Writing scripts or developing video concepts.
- Drone operation and aerial photography.
- Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
- Real estate marketing.
- Working with real estate agents, brokers, builders, or business owners.
- A portfolio of photography, video, drone, or social media work.
Compensation and Insurance Assistance
This is a commission-based position with a minimum guaranteed annual salary of $50,000.
Typical earning potential includes:
- Minimum guaranteed salary: $50,000 per year
- Average earning potential: $50,000–$100,000+ per year
- Top earning potential: Six figures, depending on production and workload
In addition to compensation, Skycrafted Imaging provides $300 per month toward basic health insurance costs. Skycrafted Imaging does not provide a group health insurance plan. The monthly insurance payment is intended to assist employees with their individual insurance expenses.
Additional details regarding the commission structure, insurance payment, mileage, and compensation requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
