Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role involves nonsterile compounding following USP 795 standards and managing inventory for the compounding department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonsterile compounding, inventory management, and adherence to company policies and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Nonsterile Compounding

Perform nonsterile compounding of medications in accordance with USP 795 standards.
Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients to create compounded medications.
Ensure all compounded medications are prepared with precision and comply with prescribed formulations.
Maintain clean and organized compounding areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are used properly and safely.
Adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements regarding the preparation of compounded medications.
Document all compounding activities accurately and thoroughly in compliance with USP 795 and company policies.

Inventory Management

Oversee and manage the inventory of the compounding department, ensuring optimal stock levels of raw materials and supplies.
Perform regular inventory counts and audits to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Order and replenish inventory as needed, maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Monitor and manage expiration dates of inventory, ensuring proper rotation and disposal of expired items.
Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Ensure proper storage conditions for all inventory, including temperature control and protection from contamination.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
Current pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) and state licensure in good standing.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in nonsterile compounding and inventory management.
Thorough knowledge of USP 795 standards and best practices for nonsterile compounding.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed.
Proficiency with pharmacy management software and inventory tracking systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and suppliers.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks that involve physical activity for extended periods.
Capability to lift and handle inventory items up to 10 to 20 lbs safely.
